I chose to use portraiture as my reading note this week. This guy was amazing to shoot photos of. It was really difficult to choose a photo because I got a lot of good ones. He was very receptive to the idea of being photographed because he just finished some photography classes. I took some photos of him without his sunglasses but he stopped me so he could put them on and it changed the entire feeling of the photos. His glasses really helped bring out his natural personality.
It was difficult to get his face to be bright enough without completely blowing out the background. I had to bump up my ISO to 1600 in order to capture everything in a good light. The shutter speed was 1/800 and the aperture was f/13. I tried a few different shutter speeds and apertures but this seemed to get the images that I wanted.
It's looks like he was really comfortable with you, Courtney :) It's cool how a part of someone's personality comes out when they relax (and sunglasses have so much variety and style that it's fun to see how his reflect--no pun intended--a part of him).
